My Top 3 Hair Regrowth Tips

Posted on: November 6th, 2026 by Our Team

Hair shedding and thinning can be frustrating, especially when it feels like you’ve tried everything. From supplements and shampoos to serums and expensive treatments, there are countless products marketed as the answer to hair loss. But before you add another product to your routine, it’s important to take a step back and consider what may actually be contributing to the problem.

Hair loss isn’t always as simple as needing a better shampoo or taking another supplement. Changes in hormones, stress, postpartum recovery, nutritional deficiencies, certain medications, genetics, and changes associated with perimenopause can all play a role. That’s why understanding the potential root cause is often more helpful than simply treating the symptom.

Tell me if this sounds familiar:

  • Maybe you’ve been shedding more than usual and can’t pinpoint why.
  • Maybe it started postpartum and never fully stopped.
  • Maybe your part is wider than it used to be.

Here’s the thing: it’s not a product problem. It’s a root cause problem.

Hair loss usually comes down to what’s happening on your scalp, in your bloodwork, and in your season of life (postpartum, perimenopause, stress).

Before investing in another hair-growth product, it’s worth looking at the bigger picture. Depending on your individual situation, evaluating your medical history, medications, hormones, nutrition, and other potential contributors can help determine what approach makes the most sense.

Here’s where I’d actually start:

1. Rogaine, but for your eyebrows

Minoxidil isn’t just for the scalp. Applied to thinning brows, it can stimulate regrowth the same way it does on the hairline, just apply carefully and consistently.

Eyebrow thinning can happen for a number of reasons, including aging, over-plucking, hormonal changes, and certain medical conditions. While minoxidil is commonly associated with scalp hair growth, it may also be used off-label for eyebrow thinning. Because the skin around the eyes is sensitive, it’s important to be careful with application and discuss whether it’s appropriate for you with a medical professional.

Consistency matters here, too. Hair growth takes time, so don’t expect overnight results from any hair-growth approach.

2. Red light therapy, daily, not sporadically

This only works with consistent use. Skipping days or using it occasionally is the #1 reason people think these devices don’t work.

My top pick:

  • CurrentBody Skin LED Hair Growth Helmet

Red light therapy, also called low-level light therapy, is another option that has gained popularity for supporting hair growth. The goal isn’t to use it once in a while and hope for a dramatic change. Like many hair-growth strategies, consistency is key.

If you’re using an at-home device, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for frequency and duration. And remember that results vary from person to person. Red light therapy can be part of a broader hair-growth plan, but it shouldn’t replace an evaluation when you’re experiencing new, sudden, or significant shedding.

3. Scalp massages and scalp care

Circulation matters. Regular scalp massage, whether on its own or paired with a peptide/exosome serum, helps deliver more blood flow and nutrients to the follicle.

Think of scalp care as part of your overall hair-growth routine rather than a quick fix. Taking a few minutes to massage the scalp regularly can be an easy addition to your routine, while keeping the scalp healthy can help create a better environment for the hair follicles.

Depending on what’s causing your hair loss, additional treatments may also be appropriate. That’s why I always come back to the same point: don’t just treat the hair you’re seeing in the mirror. Look at what’s happening underneath it.

Before you buy one more hair product, ask yourself: do I actually know why my hair is shedding, or am I just guessing?

Because when it comes to hair loss, knowing the why can be just as important as knowing the what.
